It’s back! The fashion world has been hovering over the 50s and 60s due to the Mad Men craze, but now the 80s and 90s are putting their foot down. The talk of the town at NY Fashion Week is the fun, creative collection that Marc Jacobs presented. Complete with large buckled Victorian style shoes in bright colors, topped off with gigantic slouchy fur hats, the show gave the world a feeling of whimsy and fairytale – one that the fashion population misses dearly. Along with the fantasy aspects of the collection, there are twists to basic coats – adding metallic to a simple double-breasted, a layered collar on a neutral trench, and bold colors to the staple peacoat. Whichever way you see it, there’s definitely a surplus of creative genius that’s far from the average and the shoes take you away to Never-never Land that hasn’t been reached on the runway for years!
Everyone’s going crazy for these designer collaborations happening at Target and at Macy’s. I’m sure the launch parties are even crazier! Here’s a shot of my favorite Gossip Girl wearing Jason Wu (not the Target kind!) to the Jason Wu Launch Party in New York.
It’s all about the environment this Spring, as the runway plays host to a number of looks that takes inspiration from rainforests and creatures of the sea.
